In the period 15tr' -16th December 2016, in the premises of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce (15th December 2016) and Institute "Mihajlo Pupin" (16th December 2016), the Institute of Agricultural Economics Belgrade has been organized the traditional International scientific conference: "Sustainable agriculture and rural development with the aim of realizing the strategic goals of the Republic of Serbia within the Danube region" - development and implementation of clean technologies in agriculture.

The conference presented the results of the project ИИИ - 46006 "Sustainable agriculture and rural development with the aim of realizing the strategic goals of the Republic of Serbia within the Danube region", project period 2011-2016, which has been funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technical Development of the Republic of Serbia.

The conference is organized by the Institute of Agricultural Economics Belgrade in cooperation with 15 eminent institutions from Serbia, Romania, Austria, Russia, Moldova under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. In the presence of a large number of guests from across the country and abroad, the scientific conference was opened by Mrs Mirjana Bojčevski M.A. in the name of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection. After that, the participants were welcome words addressed by representatives of the Embassy of Italy Mr. Paolo Battinelli - Scientific Attaché and a representative of the Austrian Embassy Mrs. Svetlana Pejatović Kasagić. On behalf of those present Universities from Serbia participants were welcome words addressed by Prof. Dr. Zorica Vailjević on behalf of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade and the Committee for the village of SASA; Prof. Dr. Koviljko Lovre on behalf of the Faculty of Economics, University of Novi Sad, Prof. dr Dejan Janković on behalf the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad and Prof. Dr. Gorica Cvijanović on behalf of Megatrend University. With words of welcome, the audience was addressed by our guests from abroad: Prof. Irina Elena Petrescu Ph.D. in the name of the Rectorate of The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania; Prof. Raluca Ignat Ph.D., The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania; Prof. Jean Andrei Vasile Ph.D., Petroleum and Gas University Ploiesti, Romania; Doc. Barbara Wieliczko Ph.D., Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics - Ntional Research Institute, Warsaw, Poland; Prof. Micol Mastrocicco Ph.D., The Second University of Naples, Italy; Prof. Giuseppe Castaldelli Ph.D., University of Ferrara, Italy; Prof. Ferhat Čejvanović Ph.D., the Faculty of Economy, University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. On behalf of the participants attending the conference from Serbia participants also were welcomed by: Doc. Dr Goran Janković on behalf of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad; Dr. Jovan Zubović, Director of the Institute of Economic Sciences in Belgrade; Mr Vedran Tomić in front of the Institute for Science Application in Agriculture, Belgrade. At the end, the guests were addressed the hosts of the conference: Prof. Jonel Subić, Ph.D., Director of the Institute of Agricultural Economics in Belgrade and Mr. Svetozar Krstić Ph.D., executive director of the Chamber of Commerce of the City of Belgrade. In the continuation of the conference held plenary session with in a total of 6 paper works which was signed by the 11 authors. Three working sessions consisted of in a total of 26 articles signed by 63 authors and co-authors. Works are unified new knowledge in the field of possibilities of application of new technologies and the sustainable use of natural resources in agriculture; then, information on the production and marketing of agricultural products with special characteristics of quality, rural tourism and development, etc. The consolidated results of research on the topic of strengthening institutions and regional cooperation, as well as current knowledge in the field of rural development. The second day of the meeting held a round table where participant discussed about topics that were exhibited during the conference, which has attracted much attention of those present and started an interesting discussion. At the roundtable presented the results of cooperation with the Centre of Robotics, the Institute "Mihajlo Pupin", and the results which have been achieved so far in collaboration with the Institute of Agricultural Economics, Belgrade. It was agreed that the conclusions of the roundtable together with the conclusions set leverage to further their cooperation. International scientific conference has attracted much attention, which justifies the visits and active participation of a large number of scientists, experts and guests from home and abroad. The papers will be published after the positive reviews, accepted and selected. The works highlight the importance and actuality of topics, both in Serbia and in other Balkan countries and in the Europe.
