Within the Tech Food project – „Solutions and interventions for technological transfer and innovations of food sector in regions of South-East Europe“, the Institute of Agricultural Economics was organized a presentation of Study I, on 25th November 2010, in Serbian Press Association in Belgrade, Knez Mihailova 6 Street.
Opening speech was given by Prof. Drago Cvijanović, PhD, director of the Institute of Agricultural Economics, in which he was reminded on basic goals of the project and tasks needed to be achieved at the end of the project cycle. The goal of the project is to introduce domestic producers more with condition in the field they work in, to recognize their position in it, to indicate to possibilities or reasons of introducing innovations in their production program and, finally, to realize an interest correlation, as in the country, as well as among the producers in countries-partner on the project.
The coordinator of the project, Vladana Hamović, PhD, was presented that the research team from the Institute of Agricultural Economics: Bojana Bekić, Jonel Subić, PhD, Vesna Paraušić, M.A, Branko Mihailović, PhD, Radojica Sarić, Lana Ivanović, Marko Jeločnik, together with external collaborators, Nada Kosanović, PhD, and Jovanka Ninković, had done all anticipated activities for year 2010. The trainings/working groups with target group – meat-processing industry of Serbia were kept, on theme – Competitiveness of Serbian agricultural-food industry products, Making brands, Association and marketing in function of enterprise's development in meat-processing industry of Serbia, Qualitative analytical instruments and Biomass – natural energy. In the Study I was represented also the Regional Profile of the Republic of Serbia, Case Study – „Lukanika“, as well as the results of survey done on focus and technical groups, among consumers and researchers.
The presentation of the Study I had also attended the representatives of producers, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, Regional Chamber of Commerce of Pančevo, Association of Livestock Breeding and Editorial Office of “Moja farma”.
In discussion that was developed afterwards, there was determined that the response of direct producers has not been still sufficient and that there has not been adequate interest for inclusion in this project. There was highlighted a need for association of producers at the local level, as well as the possibility to realize their mutual interest linkage with the producers from surrounding partner-countries through the Tech Food project, along with support of all relevant institutions in the country.
