Research team of the Institute of Agricultural Economics from Belgrade at the project TECH.FOOD, attended the Final Conference on 23rd February 2012, which was organized by the Hungarian Project partner – Corvinus University in Budapest. At the Conference in Hotel Gellert in Budapest, there was large number of participants from sector of economy, science, education and public institutions from countries in the South East Europe Region.
Conclusions of three year Project under title Solutions and Interventions for the technological transfer and the innovation of the agro food sector In South East Regions were presented at the Conference. Presentations conducted by experts in the field of innovation from Italy, Hungary, Romania, Austria and Greece, showed existing innovation legislation and future steps of European politics regarding innovation as well as possibilities for innovation transfer through transnational horizontal network, possibilities for facilitation of innovation of agro food enterprises at local and transnational level and agro food enterprises’ attitude regarding innovation.
Additional discussion and conclusions of lecturers and quests at the Conference, confirmed that there is a great need for innovation of agro food sector in the Region of South East Europe for the purpose of larger competition of final products at European market. There is a need to establish multidisciplinary teams between companies and research institutions, to create companies networks and to discover new production technologies, which would improve the quality of traditional products.
