On 24th September 2012, in the Local community "Glogonj" in premises of restaurant "Grand", held promotion "Study 02" and also press conferences. The meeting was organized by the Institute of Agricultural Economics from Belgrade, who is the project manager for EU.WATER project in the Republic of Serbia and the local community "Glogonj" as conference host. Numerous representatives of local stakeholders (farmers, local officials from the municipal government, the Chamber of Commerce, as well as small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises - stakeholders) as well as media representatives who were present at the meeting, on behalf of the Institute of Agricultural Economics, Belgrade welcomed the Director Prof. dr. Drago Cvijanovic, on behalf of local communities "Glogonj" President Zoran Aleksic.
In welcomed speech, Prof.dr. Drago Cvijanovic explained the need and importance of EU.WATER project, particularly in the pilot area of Pancevo city, which is burdened with environmental issues caused by environment pollution caused by among other things, emissions of harmful substances into soil and water. Prof. dr. Cvijanovic presented the project objectives, the schedule of activities held during the project and importance.
Special emphasis is placed on the promotion of the "Study 02" which is presented by Predrag Vukovic M.Sc. Also, to the local stakeholders he presented Nitrates Directive 91/676 EEC and the WFD 2000/60. He put attention on EU rules relating to agricultural production. Special emphasis is placed on the presentation of the GIS maps that the IAE did during the the project and he explain their significance.
Local stakeholders and journalist who were present at the meeting expressed for the previous activities on EU.WATER project. Presented the current issues and expressed their willingness to cooperate with the management of EU.WATER project.
The delegation of the Institute of Agricultural Economics from Belgrade, at at the meeting was attended by Director of the Institute Prof. dr. Drago Cvijanovic (Project Manager), Predrag Vukovic M.Sc. (Project Coordinator) and Doc Dr. Jonel Subic (assistant director IEP).
